My Baby Girl is 2 months old already! I don't like how quickly it's going :( But I AM enjoying her! Kaia is such a cutie pie. My favorite thing is talking to her while she smiles and converses with me. I also love our bath time (she gets in the tub with me because it's just easier and she loves it).
We had her 2 month checkup last week and she is in about the 47th percentile for head and weight, and just a tad lower for height, so she's in the average range for all of it. Then she had to endure the shots... 3 of them and a liquid vaccination. The liquid she took OK, then came the shots. It took her a split second to realize what was happening and then the tears started along with the wailing. We felt sooo bad for her! Yes, I was tearing up along with her. It took a little bit to console her, but once I started nursing her, she calmed down. Poor baby! I am not looking forward to more shots at her 4 month visit.
This weekend was Mother's Day - my first! I remember this time last year I was wondering and hoping I would be able to celebrate this year and sure enough, I am lucky and have my beautiful, healthy, sweet baby! I had a perfect Mother's Day. We went to Sean's parent's for lunch, then to my mom's afterward. Kaia was in a good mood all afternoon and we spent a long time playing with her.
An update on the nursing since I was having so many issues at the beginning... it's going much better now. We still have some issues, but it does seem much easier now. She is off the shield completely for the past week and doing pretty well most of the time. I am not sure why, but she doesn't latch as well on the right side, so we struggle there, but overall, she's doing well. I am pleased that she's been gaining weight the way she should because I always worry about my milk supply. It seems lower in the past 2 weeks to me, but maybe it's my imagination. I figure I'll give it another week or so before I try Fenugreek or Mother's Milk tea... we're still doing before and after weights at Baby & Me, and she's been eating less while we're there lately, but I wonder if it has to do with there being so much noise and action there that she's curious about. She does not enjoy being under the cover-up to nurse while we're there!
